National Marine Park

National Marine Park

The UKs first national marine park supporting greater prosperity and engagement with our marine environment. £22m investment package, primarily through NLHF Horizons.

 Plymouth Natural Grid

Plymouth Natural Grid

A multi award winning partnership project between Plymouth City Council and National Trust working across Plymouth’s green sites and reserves to create climate resilient landscapes, upskill young people and empower local communities to take Climate Action. Funded by Natural England (£1m).

Forder Valley

Derriford Community Park

This project covers 146 hectares in the north of the city, south of Derriford Hospital. It contains a large area of previously inaccessible farmland, and three designated Local Nature Reserves, Forder Valley, Bircham Valley and Seaton and Lower Bircham Valley The protection of nature across these sites and engaging communities is a key component of the park. £2.4m investment.  

 Plymouth and South Devon Community Forest

Plymouth and South Devon Community Forest

A partnership project that aims to plant over 500 hectares of new woodland by 2025 – that’s the same area as 19,000 tennis courts! Supported by the Trees for Climate package £8m, with proposals for future pipeline of activity.

Green Communities

A community – focussed nature project working in Devonport, Central Park, and the west of the city, specifically Keyham and Weston Mill. It is a Neighbourhood Nature Recovery partnership project between Plymouth City Council, National Trust, Devon Wildlife Trust, Real Ideas Organisation, and Zebra Collective. Funded through a combination of grants and contributions, including support from Heritage Lottery Fund Urban Nature Development Grant and Natural England (£0.5m).

Building Resilience in Communities

Interreg funded programme supporting community resilience to flooding in Plymouth’s most at risk, deprived communities.A 2-year, €3.4m project which has secured 70% European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) funding from the Interreg France-Channel-England programme. Addressing the issue of flood management from a social innovation perspective.
