What is Ocean City Nature?
Ocean City Nature was born out of a desire to do more for Plymouth’s natural infrastructure.
While Plymouth City Council does wonders to keep much loved recreational areas in good order and areas more suited for nature maintained, ever-decreasing budgets mean this job is getting harder.
This is why Ocean City Nature was created – to do things a bit differently; to attract new forms of sustainable investment; to use innovation to achieve nature recovery and crucially, to ensure that all of these things make a difference to Plymouth and its residents.
Ocean City Nature will develop a range of investment opportunities ensuring that nature and its recovery becomes a core part of the City’s economy, and that it is valued for the enjoyment, beauty and wellbeing it brings.
The first investment – through Ocean City Biodiversity - will see three of the city’s most-loved green spaces not only enhanced and improved for nature, but also preserved and managed for the benefit of generations to come.
Ocean City Nature is committed to creating a higher quality, accessible natural environment that benefits people and wildlife, creating opportunities through a vibrant and sustainable local green economy.
