Chelson Meadow
Chelson Meadow is an area formally used as a landfill site and has since been reclaimed and restored as grassland habitat. It is situated in the southeast of Plymouth adjacent to three County Wildlife Sites (CWS): the Plym Estuary, Saltram Estate and Wixenford Quarry Marsh. 14 ha adjacent to the biodiversity site has been earmarked for development of a solar farm.

Habitat types
Lowland meadow, neutral grassland, bramble & mixed scrub, broadleaved woodland, open mosaic habitat and scrub.
Management objectives:
- Maintain and enhance the species diversity of the grasslands.
- Maintain and enhance pockets of scrub on the site as good areas for forage and habitat.
- Maintain and improve ground-nesting habitat for species such as skylarks.
- Maintain and improve grassland habitat for pollinators, butterflies and moths.
